PALM BEACH POWER SECOND MARINE ENGINE SERVICE DEALER IN NATION
TO RECEIVE NEW ENGINE REPAIR RATINGWEST PALM BEACH, FL (October 10, 2001)-Palm Beach Power, a marine service dealer for Detroit Diesel Corporation (DDC), recently was sanctioned as an authorized maintenance dealer for the DDC Series 60 marine engine, the second marine dealer in the United States to receive the certification.
Palm Beach Power President Charles W. Schloemer stated, "The DDC 60 Marine dealership is a huge shot in the arm to us. Besides the confidence level exhibited by Detroit Diesel in awarding us the new venture, being an authorized dealer will bring new customers to Palm Beach Power. The Series 60 engine, found in marine pleasure vessels ranging in size from 45 to 55 feet, cruisers from 50 to 63 feet, and various workboats from 35 to 55 feet, is a derivative of the popular Series 60 heavy-duty truck engine, the most popular heavy-duty engine in North America. This particular engine benefits from extensive emissions development, providing excellent fuel economy, low emissions and virtually smoke-free operation. The most frequent comments from boat owners and builders who have installed the Series 60 marine engine include outstanding fuel economy, low noise and vibration, and great acceleration. The engine series, built especially for the marine customer, is the latest of Detroit Diesel's new four-cycle engines and is offered in 700 and 825-horsepower versions.
